Description: Territoire constitué par le MRNF à même les territoires forestiers du domaine de l'État pour favoriser l’avancement des sciences forestières. Ces forêts d'expérimentation (FE) jouissent d'une protection légale en vertu de la Loi sur l'aménagement durable du territoire forestier (chapitre A-18.1). Les FE comprennent : arboretum (collections d'arbres), peuplement semencier, vergers à graines et autres dispositifs de recherche. Particularités à tenir compte : -Certaines FE sont en processus d'être désignées légalement, et elles sont identifiées par l'indicateur de projet (IND_PROJ) à « O ». -Certaines FE ont un double statut avec un autre type de territoire, soit avec un refuge biologique, ce qui apporte une protection supplémentaire. Ces données proviennent du système STF du MRNF qui est la source officielle de cette information géographique.
